STORER, George H. – Of Flint, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
There will be no visitation at the church.
Mr. Storer was born in Flint, Michigan on August 30, 1921, where he lived his entire life.
He graduated from Central High School in 1938.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 103rd Infantry Company D.
George worked for General Motors at AC Spark Plug, retiring after 39 years of service.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and woodcarving, and especially spending time with his many friends at McDonalds and Donna's Donuts, solving the problems of the world.
On February 14, 1941, he married Gloria Speckin and raised four daughters, Lynda (Mike Hanley), Raeann (Ed McLeod), Georgina (Paul Daunt), Jill (John Breitling).
He was a proud Grandpa to Ryan (Lauren) Hanley, Jamie Hanley, Jenny (Thomas) Nothhelfer, Danielle Daunt, Aaron (Amy) McLeod, Lauren, Erica and John Joseph Breitling;
Great-Grandpa to William, Matthew and Andrew Hanley and Thomas Nothhelfer, IV.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, in 1989; parents; sister and brother-in-law.
