DeLisle, David “Mike” – Of Lapeer, age 73, passed on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at University of Michigan Hospital.
Mike graduated from Bendle High School in 1961 and remained a loyal Tiger all of his life. He served in the U.S. Airforce. Mike retired from GM Truck and Bus in 2005 after 42 years. He was a very involved father who was well known and loved by kids and parents at Goodrich and Lapeer High schools where he coached, formerly, and from the sidelines for all of his girls. Mike loved sharing memories and oldies music, especially Buddy Holly. He enjoyed all of his lifelong friendships and his monthly “boys night out” dinners.
Mike leaves numerous family members to cherish his memory - His wife of 30 years, Cindy DeLisle; children, Deidra Weinert (Michael), Shelli Gutholm (Jeff) and Erin DeLisle; grandchildren, Regen Weinert, McKenzie Weinert, Brandon Gutholm, Paige Gutholm and Oliver Gutholm; Siblings, Jerry DeLisle, Sharon Tribley and Diane Spiceland; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Laverne DeLisle; father Russell DeLisle; step-mother Gracie Cundiff (DeLisle)
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road Flint. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial scholarship fund in Mike’s name at Bendle High School. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
