KIDD, Daniel George – of Columbiaville, age 56, passed away October 3, 2015 at Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak due to a tractor accident on June 9, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Wednesday. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison Knights of Columbus #4090 and Faithful Navigator Assembly #0523 will be held at 7 PM Wednesday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or St. John Building Fund.
Dan was born in Flint, MI on June 15, 1959, son of George and Betty Lou (Dallas) Kidd. He graduated from Davison High School in 1977. Dan was a member of the Davison Eagles #3589 and Knights of Columbus # 4090 3rd and 4th Degree. He was proud to usher at 12 NOON Mass at St. Johns. Dan loved cruising in his 64 Chevy Impala convertible (owned since the age of 18), hunting, traveling and especially spending time with his family and friends. You could always depend on Dan to lend a helping hand at anytime. Dan retired from A/C Spark Plug after 30 years and was currently employed at the Lapeer Walmart in the Service Department.
Dan is survived by his father, George (Beth Brancheau); siblings, Sharon (Perry) Wilson of Davison, Timothy Kidd of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Douglas (Cheryl) Kidd of Swartz Creek and Sue Fielder of Burton; longtime girlfriend, Dana Holmes and dog, Cayce; He was known as the “godfather” to nieces and nephews, Michelle, Melissa, Patrick, Anthony, Roman, Gary and Nicole. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou; grandparents, George (Dorothy) Dallas and Leonard (Florena) Kidd. The family would like to thank the Trauma Services Staff at McLaren – Lapeer and the SICU Staff at Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak.
