Howald, Donna L. of Flushing, age 72, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Fostrian Court Assisted Living. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church until time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fostrian Court Assisted Living.
Donna was born in Flint, MI on November 24, 1942, the daughter of Ashton and Elizabeth (Wirt) Duff. She married Richard “Dick” Howald at Trinity Episcopal Church, Flushing on July 14, 1961. Donna retired from the Oakdale Regional Center, Lapeer as a caregiver. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a former member of Women of the Moose. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, playing slots, bingo and bunco with friends.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dick; daughters, Kathy (Dale) Charter of Holly, Renee (Brian) Kleinow of Flint; grandchildren, Zachary, Kaitlyn and Kayla; loving dog, Teddy; sister, Dianna; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Duffy.
Donna’s family would like to thank the custodial, kitchen, maintenance staff, hospice staff, aides, nurses and the high brass at Fostrian Court for everything they have done for them. They love each and every one of you and couldn’t have had a better place for Donna to be cared for. We appreciate all that you have done for Dick, the family and Teddy (family dog). A special thank you is given to Dick’s sister, Karen during this difficult time. |
