GILBERTSON, Norine Elizabeth – of Flint, MI, age 85, died Thursday, February 27, 2020. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, March 6, 2020 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home, Clio, Michigan. Pastor Beck officiating. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, MI on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 4 PM until 7PM and on Friday from Noon until time of service at 1PM. Private burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Norine was born November 4, 1934 in Clio, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Marguerite (Acheson) Jacobs. She attended Clio High School and later Eastern Michigan University. On July 4, 1953, Norine married Royce Gilbertson in Flint, Michigan and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2001. Norine became a teacher and worked in both North Branch schools and St. Mark Lutheran School in Flint for over 15 years. She loved to travel, tend to her garden, spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norine enjoyed spending time with the family at their 40 acre family farm/hunting camp. All who knew Norine loved her. She was a sweet soul that was soft spoken and helpful. She was a role model to her children and she loved her Lord and the Church where she served and worshipped for many years.
Surviving are: Daughters; Deborah (Ken) Lewis of Otter Lake, Michigan, Roxanne (Daniel) Tony of Flint, Michigan; 8 Grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; Brothers: Ray Jacobs, Minor Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her parents; Son, Darrel Gilbertson; Daughter, Christine England; Brothers: Frank Jacobs, Leslie Jacobs; Grandchild, Christina.
