POLACEK, Vicki Lynn (Schmidt) – of Flint, MI, age 67, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; The Very Reverend Dr. Jay J. Gantz officiating. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Vicki’s memory.
Vicki was born in Flint, MI on September 30, 1957, daughter of the late Edward and Lorraine (Parker) Schmidt. A proud graduate of Flint Central High School and The Ohio State University, Vicki dedicated many years to serving the community through her work at various banks in the Flint area. On July 4, 1986, Vicki married her beloved husband, William “Fred” Polacek, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2021. Their love story was a testament to partnership and joy, filled with cherished memories. Vicki had a passion for knitting and a deep affection for animals. Her cat, George, was not just a pet but a constant source of laughter and companionship, brightening her days with his playful antics. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her friends, exploring new restaurants, and was always open to new adventures, embracing life with enthusiasm and a warm heart. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering love, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Vicki’s legacy of love and joy will continue to resonate in the hearts of her friends.
Vicki is survived by her dear friends, Paula Walraven and Cliff Carlin; feline companion, George and her extended ALANON family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lorraine Schmidt; her husband, Fred Polacek.
