McCALLUM, Mark J., Sr. – Of Gaines, age 59, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 9450 Duffield Road, Gaines, celebrating Mass will be Father Jeffrey Poll and Father Robert McKeon con-celebrating.
Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Gaines, MI.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Food Pantry or St. Joseph's Building Fund.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a K of C Service..
Mr. McCallum will be at the church from 9;30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Mark was born in Flint, Michigan on January 31, 1953, son of the late John and Genevieve (Eddy) McCallum.
On August 18, 1973 he married Rosann Wendt in Swartz Creek.
He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a founding member of Gaines K of C and was Past Grand Knight, was a member of the Eagles and formerly involved with the Gaines Fire Department and the Cub Scouts. He loved helping people.
Mr. McCallum retired from GM in 2009, after 36 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Rosann;
children, Christine McCallum,
Mark J. Jr. and wife Erica,
Amy and husband David Brault,
Gary and wife Tara,
Jennifer and husband Loren Creed and
John;
7 grandchildren;
several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy.
