Wade "Dick" Richard Westfall
Age 79 of Montrose passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at McGeehan Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel. Burial will follow at Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17th from 4:00 to 8:00pm, and on Tuesday from 10:00am until the service.
Wade was born on April 25, 1940 to William and Carrinda (McClain) Westfall in Flint. He graduated from Montrose High School with the Class of 1958 and earned his Barber license from the Flint Institute of Barbering. Wade worked as a Security Guard for General Motors for many years, retiring in 1992. Wade married the love of his life, Barbara Dean on June 20, 1959; they celebrated 60 years of marriage last year.
Wade was a member of the Montrose Masonic Lodge and the Auto City Eagles. He enjoyed cars, watching sports, and dogs. He also loved traveling to the UP, especially the Soo Locks.
Wade is survived by his wife, Barbara Westfall; his children, Peggy (Roy) Garcia, Julie Turner, and David (Kim) Westfall; his grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Harris, Jill Harris, Ashley Atwell, Whitney Atwell, Callie Turner, and Wade Kenneth Westfall; his 4 great-grandchildren, Kal, Ella, Leighton, and Whitney; his sister, Sally Adams; his sisters-in-law, Natalie (Jim) Burk and Rose Marie Morax; his brother-in-law, Bill Custance; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, William and Carrinda Westfall; his grandsons, Patrick and Daniel Turner; his parents-in-law, Nathan and Dorothy Dean; his brothers-in-law, Raymond Adams, Nathan Dean, Lloyd McGirr, and James Murray; his sisters-in-law, Lillian McGirr, Sandra Burton, and Dorothy Custance.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
