Robert (Bob) Beavis, age 83, of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint; Father Roy Horning officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Bob was born in Detroit on August 7, 1929, and was a resident of Grand Blanc since 1972. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and had a long career in the grocery business as an executive with both Kroger and Hamady Brothers. Bob loved baseball, was an avid golfer, and in recent years developed a passion for artwork and painting. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Adrienne, in 1949 and was a devoted husband and father. He will be sadly missed by Adrienne along with daughter Lynn Coppel, daughter Kimberly and husband Terry Sly, grandson Cory and wife Rachel McDonald, granddaughter Kelsey and husband Dan Laird, and great-grandchildren Cecilia and Patrick McDonald and Callie Laird.
