William “Bill” Conrad, 86, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He was born on April 22, 1928 in Wilmette, Illinois to parents Louis and Elizabeth (Weis) Conrad. Bill graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1948. Bill worked several years at Buick in Flint. He went on to work maintenance at Veselys, Vlasics and Trayco, all in Lapeer County. Bill was a long term member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer. Joan and Bill did everything together and particularly loved to travel. Bill was an accomplished wood-worker, often times teaming with Joan on crafts. He had the mind of an engineer with a very creative spirit.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Scotty) Jolly of Oxford; grandchildren: Darcy, Christopher, Summar and Livia; brother, Louis (Barbara) Conrad of Lapeer; sister-in-law, Janet Running of Lapeer. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Conrad; sister, Theresa Thompson; and his parents.
Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Bill’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 19, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapeer, Pastor Grant Lobb officiating. Burial will be at the Attica Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1310 North Main Street, Lapeer, Michigan 48446.
