WILLIAMS, Ronald John “Ron” – age 95, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Regency at Grand Blanc. Memorial services will be held 3:00PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Avenue, Grand Blanc, Michigan with Rev. Patrick England officiating.
Ron was born March 23, 1919 in London, England the son of the late William H. and Violet (Baker) Williams. He lived in Royal Oak, Michigan from 1923 to 1946 where he graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1937. In 1942, Ron married Cleo Herbert in Royal Oak, and resided in Berkley from 1946 to 2008. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. Ron was employed by General Motors as a metal smith, retiring in 1981. He was also a pilot and loved flying, owning his own plane. In his free time, he enjoyed target shooting and loved to travel, visiting England and Scotland often. Ron was an expert model maker and made the third largest all metal model of the R.M.S. Mauretania. He was also a member of the Grand Blanc United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his son, David and wife, Karen Williams of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Glenn and wife, Amy Williams of Lansing, Leandra and husband, Jay Lobb of Shelby Twp.; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Hailey, Olivia and Ella Lobb.
