WESOLOWSKI, Joseph – Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Medi Lodge of Montrose.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, G-4063 West Pierson Road, Flint, Father Anthony Majchrowski officiating.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wesolowski will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Burial in Flushing Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of Chevrolet VFW Post #1452.
Joseph was born in Flushing, MI on May 4, 1923, the son of Kasmier and Stella (Zienta) Wesolowski.
He married Stella Sitko on August 17, 1946 at All Saints Catholic Church in Flint. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 1943 to February 1946. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and UAW Local 599 Skilled Trades Committee.
He was a life member of Dom Polski and the Polish National Alliance Group 1186, where he served as Past President.
He was also a life member and Past Post Commander of VFW Post #1452.
Mr. Wesolowski was employed by Buick Motor Division for 31 years, retiring in 1975.
Surviving are wife, Stella;
three sons, Mitchell and wife Mary of Lynchburg, Virginia,
Joseph, Jr. of Chelsea, Michigan,
Alexis and wife Helen of Clio;
three grandsons, Kevin and wife Laura, Matthew and Luke;
three granddaughters, Rebecca and husband Joey Canuel, Stephanie and husband Roger Thorn and Jill Wesolowski;
eight great-grandchildren, Ella, Brent, David, Scott, Erik, DeAndre, Charles and Emily;
two sisters, Alice Vesterfelt of Sanford, Michigan and Nina Pudvay of Edwardsburg, MI;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; sister and four half-sisters.
