THERESA V. CHIZMADIA, age 82 of Metamora, formerly of Columbiaville, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Bolton Brook Manor. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, with Rev. Fr. Ken Koflin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Loretto Cemetery in Lapeer, MI. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 6-8PM and on Monday, April 24, 2017 from Noon-8PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center St., Otisville, MI 48463 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215. Theresa was born July 22, 1934 in Flint, MI to Ludwig and Frances Torzewski. She met and married George Chizmadia, Sr. on August 27, 1955. They lived in Davison and then moved to a farm in Columbiaville, MI and had four children: George (Marguerite) Chizmadia, Deborah (Victor) Miller, Gerald (Dana) Chizmadia, and Duane Chizmadia. They were blessed with nine grandchildren: Jessica (Nate) Vanderklok, Jennifer (Kevin) Kirby, Kathryn Chizmadia, Jon Chizmadia, Gerald, Ben, Christina, Stefanie-Ann Chizmadia, and Nicholas Chizmadia; and three great-grandchildren: Barbara and Catherine Vanderklok and Eva Ruth Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; son, Gerald L. Chizmadia; parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Joseph Ulrich. |
