O'Neill, Gary M. of Flushing, age 63, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at his home. A memorial service will be 12 noon, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Wes Morris will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at Rossell Funeral Home.
Gary was born in Flint, Michigan on January 8, 1953, the son of Ripley and Bernice (DeCaire) O'Neill. He married Kay Koffman on September 2, 1972, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Gary was a musician and enjoyed playing the drums and guitar. He taught electronics at Mott Community College. Gary loved baseball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and coached Flushing JV softball for many years. He also enjoyed motorcycles. Gary was a loving husband and a proud father and grandfather.
Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kay; daughters, Sara Bois, Abby and husband Danny Szafranski, Ashley and husband Phu Trieu; grandchildren, Lucas, Brooklyn; mother, Bernice O'Neill; brothers, Craig and wife Christine O'Neill, Dennis and wife Janice O'Neill, Danny and wife Kathy O'Neill; sister-in-law, Harriet and husband Bill Jenkins; many nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends, and his amazing team and co-workers from RS Electronics and Carlton-Bates.
