RHOADES, Eva Bell - Of Flint, age 98, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at American House North.
Funeral Service will be held 11am Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to The Medical Team Hospice, 4400 S. Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48507.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Eva was born in Flint on December 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Myrtle G. (Bolser) Blanchard. She married Ralph L. Rhoades on June 20, 1977. Eva was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for 68 years until it closed. She was a member of the St. Robert’s Seniors and Retirees and Buick Local #599 Retirees. Eva was employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug.
Surviving are children, Judy (Ray) Cesal, step-children, Janis (Ken) Chappell and Randy (Sherri) Rhoades;
daughter-in-law, Linda Stringer;
15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren;
brother, Richard Jeffery;
sister, Charlotte Davis;
many loved nieces and nephews;
and best friend for over 75 years, Helen Damsen.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Merlin Stringer, in 1962; second husband Ralph in 2016, parents, brothers, John and Charles Blanchard; sister, Sharon Bower; son, David Stringer and step-son, John Rhoades.
