FORD, Kenneth R. O., SR. – of Mt. Morris, age 70, died Monday. October 20, 2014 at McLaren of Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 24, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Michael McClusky officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Morris City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-9Pm and on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ken was born August 28, 1944 in Flint to the late Harold and Donna (Tufford) Ford and was raised by his loving grandparents, the late Elva and Emerson Tufford. He was a lifelong resident of Mt. Morris. He married Linda Whetstone on April 23, 1966 in Mt. Morris. Mr. Ford retired from Buick in 2006 with 33 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. He was a frequent visitor at the Little Country Bar. He enjoyed stock car racing and attended the weekly races at Auto City and Dixie Speedways. He was the proud owner of a 1968 GTO.
Surviving are: wife, Linda; son Ken Jr. (Samantha) Ford of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Courtney Ford (fiancé Chris Sterns) of Davison, Casey Poag of Chesaning, Taylor Castonon of Chesaning, Lauren Castonon of Mt. Morris; great granddaughter, Aubrie Poag; siblings, Harold (Mary) Ford of Clio, Jim (Collette) Ford of Vassar, Steve (Arlene) Ford of Clio, Cathy Cromwell of Vassar, Jim (Leta) Gonsler of Grand Blanc, Larry Girard (Companion Gay) of Clio; brothers-in-law, Lanny and Angela Whetstone of Grand Blanc, Lloyd and Carolyn Whetstone of Flushing; many nieces and nephews.
