Zorn, Richard, Sr. of Flushing, age 83, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, 11-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at the church Friday until the time of the Mass. A scripture service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 1, 1932, the son of Homer and Helen (Gombic) Zorn. He married Carolyn Jones on June 30, 1967. Richard was employed by General Motors for 39 years, retiring in 1998. Along with his wife, they have been members at St. Robert Catholic Church since 1974. Richard was a member of Flushing S.A.L.T. and the Flushing Moose Lodge. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Traverse City, Michigan and Naples, Florida. The greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Rick and wife Jenna Zorn of Flushing, Jennifer and husband Dan Pelton of Saginaw; grandchildren, Ashley and Audrey Zorn, Mallory and Grant Pelton; sisters, Shirley and husband Ron Knudsen, Sharon Tonak; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends, including, Debbie, Cheri, and Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents. |
