JENKINS, Joan K. - of Flint, age 81, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Medilodge of Montrose. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 3PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 12pm until the time of service at 3PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or ASPCA.
Joan was born January 19, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Carl and Helena (Baller) Clever. She graduated in 1953 from Flint Northern High School. Joan obtained an Associate’s degree from Baker College in 1986. She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baker College in 2001. Joan worked as a librarian’s assistant for Baker College in Mt. Clemens for 15 years, retiring in 2006. Joan enjoyed puzzles, spending time with family, theatre, and music of all kinds. She also loved her cats, being a vocalist and directing the church choir. Joan would volunteer to usher at Fox Theatre just to watch the shows.
Surviving are: Son, Paul (Tina) Jenkins; Grandchildren: Haley Jenkins, and John Jenkins, and many other nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Michael Jenkins; Brothers: Carl Clever, and Paul Clever; Sisters: Lois Erikson, and Anita McDonald.
