RALEIGH, Ed Jr. – of Clio, age 72, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ken Horne officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Guiding Light Tabernacle Church.
Ed was born August 27, 1945 in Whick, Kentucky to the late Ed and Hazel (Turner) Raleigh. He grew up in Whick, Kentucky and moved to the Clio area in 1972. He attended Northern High School. On March 20, 1964 he married Rita Getcy in Flint, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Ed worked for GM as an Inspector for 28 years. He was a member of the Guiding Light Tabernacle Church. Ed enjoyed racing stock cars, bingo, and sight seeing with his wife. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife Rita; Children, Kristine (Craig) Taylor, Edward “Tony” (Ruth) Raleigh; Grandchildren, Cody (Sam) Taylor, Rebecca Taylor, Shelby Taylor, Amanda (Chad) Angers, Andrea (Travis) Brown, Edward (Kimberly) Raleigh Jr., Eric (Courtney) Raleigh; 7 Great Grandchildren and 2 on the way; Sisters, Wilma Jean (Gary) Lee, Patricia (Cecil) Dubay; and several nieces and nephews.
