TOWNSEND, Michael F. – of Davison, age 58, passed away January 23, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Daniel Louman officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Monday and 10-11 AM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old Newsboys of Flint, Inc.
Michael was born in Killeen, TX on August 29, 1955, son of Melvin and Virginia (Richmond) Townsend. He married Shannon O. McClung on April 18, 2003 in Davison. Michael attended Genesee Area Skill Center and graduated from Grand Blanc High School. He was a member of the Davison Eagles and Grand Blanc Moose Lodge. Michael was an avid golfer and enjoyed motorcycle riding. He was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic and worked for GM Powertrain in Pontiac.
Michael is survived by his wife, Shannon; children, Jonathan (Heather), Brian, Laura McClung (fiancé, James Farrington); grandchildren, Lilyanna, Aiden, Scarlett, future grandson, Parker; parents, Melvin and Virginia Townsend; brother, Gary (Colleen); sister, Kathy McElyea; five nieces; one nephew and one great-nephew.
