DRINKWINE, Joseph A. – of Burton, age 73, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Monday, April 8, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, for future designation.
Joe was born February 3, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to the late Paul and Margaret (Holmes) Drinkwine. He was married to Gloria Hargarther for 37 years, she preceded him in death. Joe retired from the City of Flint after many years of service. He loved all animals - especially his dogs, working on cars, and trips to the casino. Joe taught his family members to play poker, and was always a humble, positive and selfless man that loved life. Above all, Joe loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: JoAnn (Dan) Giem, Joseph Drinkwine Jr. (Misty), Michelle (John) Jordan, Jeff Hargarther, and Donald Hargarther; Grandchildren: Christina (Michael) Lusk, Nicholas Giem (Fiancée Kara), D.J. Kessler, Amanda Kessler, Alex Kessler, Ben Kessler, Jonah Kessler, Danielle Drinkwine, Joseph Drinkwine III, Tyler Hargarther, and Nathaniel Hargarther; Great grandchildren: Lucy, Noah, Michael, and Rowan; Brothers: George Drinkwine, John Drinkwine, David Drinkwine, and James Drinkwine; Sisters: Mary Spilker, and Theresa Shinabarger; Many nieces and nephews. Joe was also preceded in death by his Siblings: Frank, Clifford, Russell, Pauline, Elwood, and Nancy; Brother in law, Dallas Spilker.
