Vincent was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 16, 1927, the son of the late Vincent and Viola (Philys) Obloj and at a very young age moved to Flint, MI.

Vincent graduated from Flint Northern High School Class of 1946. It was there that he met the love of his life, Dorothy (Zembo). Vincent and Dorothy were united in marriage on October 7, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a very loving, caring and devoted husband and they were blessed to share 55 wonderful years together.

Mr. Obloj was employed by Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant as a Tool & Die Maker, retiring in 1987, with 41 years of service. He loved and lived his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Luke’s and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Vincent enjoyed spending time fishing in the Upper Peninsula and Lake St. Helen. He loved playing cribbage, and had a true passion for golf, playing weekly until the age of 90. For many years he volunteered as a Marshall at the Buick Open. He was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed listening to polish music and was always ready to dance the polka.

Vincent will be remembered as a very loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Most importantly he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Mark Obloj, Scott and wife Barbara Obloj;

daughter, Kristy and husband Donald Sitko;

granddaughters, Heather Obloj and Matt, Holly Obloj and Kyle;

grandsons, Ryan Sitko, Aaron and wife Kelly Sitko;

great-grandchildren, Zander and Emerson; special friends, Judy Steinhaus, Roberta and Ray Dmoch.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Care Friends and staff at The Lodges of Durand and Hart to Hart Hospice for their sincere kindness, dedicated care and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.
