WINNINGHAM, William “Pete” - Passed in peace at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of family at home in Grand Blanc, Michigan on February 3, 2020.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Jim E. Nelson officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Center.
Visitation 4- 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pete was born in Blue Springs, Mississippi.
He worked at General Motors for 32 years, before retiring. He enjoyed retirement life between Michigan and Texas.
He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, MI and First Baptist Church in Pharr, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nanette.
Surviving are children, Pamela Griner (Stanley James) and David Winningham;
grandchildren, Kim Jones, Eric Jones, Anthony Jones (Britt Evans) and Lance Gorder;
great-grandchildren, Skylar Stowers and Dominic Gorder.
He had several nieces and nephews of whom he was proud. Of course, he loved all the children, especially Gabi Diaz, his 6 year old great-grand-niece that was in charge of his nursing care during his last month on hospice.
