WELLS, Charles F. – of Clio, age 75, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be in Flint Memorial Park at a later date. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 2-8PM. He will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until time of mass. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Charles was born March 31, 1938 in Cleveland, OH to the late Charles and Florence (Wondrak) Wells. He lived in Clio most of his life. Mr. Wells served in the US Marines from 1956 to 1958. He married Ruth Witt on June 9, 1979 in Clio. She preceded him in death in November 1991. He retired from Buick in 2002 with 30 years seniority. He was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, Birch Run Loyal order of Moose and the UAW Local #599. Charles loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Surviving are: Cynthia Reed of Clio, Wendy (Jon) Strong of Clio; 4 grandchildren, Zach, Chase, Seth and Katlyn; siblings, James Wells of OH, David Wells of OH, Marsha Wyatt of MO, Maurine Wells of OH, Linda Petrarek of NJ; many nieces and nephews.
