ROAT, Phyllis J. – of Burton, age 85, passed away April 10, 2016 at the family’s farmhouse. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, April 15, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday and 12-1 PM Friday.
Phyllis was born in Flint, MI on March 26, 1931, daughter of the late Hartley and Elsie (Roat) Welch. She married in 1949 and from that union four sons were born. Phyllis loved to cook and bake. She was well known for her potato salad. Phyllis was a custodian at Bentley Schools before retiring in 1992 after 25 years of service.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Ricky (Linda) Roat and Scott (Marianne) Roat; grandchildren, Stephanie Casey, Cameron Roat, Candice Roat and Carson Roat; great-granddaughter, Xenia; brother, Robert (Evelyn) Welch; many extended family. She was preceded in death by sons, Gregory and Randall Roat; grandson, Jonathan Casey.
