BURNS, Helen L. – of Flint, age 92, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Goodman Cox officiating. Burial to follow in Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service at 1PM.
Helen was born December 2, 1921 in Clio to the late Milton and Doris (Wadsworth) Wilcox. She married Arthur Burns in December 16, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1970. Helen lived in the Flint area most of her life and was a caregiver. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Surviving are: daughter, Marilyn Odette; 5 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Soto and Eveline Wilson; special friends, Rudy and Oma Jean Finch; canine companion “Bambi”; many other family and friends. She was also preceded in death by: daughters, Ruth Ann and Margaret Etmus; grandson, Richard Kilts; great grandson, John Kilts; brothers, Milton, Nelson, Melvin Wilcox; sisters, Flora and Delphine Wilcox.
