KIES, Leona L. – of Montrose, age 69, passed Saturday, September 3, 2016 peacefully with her family at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at North Flushing Baptist Church, 7500 W. Mt. Morris Rd. Pastor Dale Lewis officiating. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be in Montrose Township Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11AM until time of services at 3PM where a memorial by the New Lothrop VFW Ladies Auxiliary will be held at 1 PM.
Leona was born August 13, 1947 in Owosso, MI to the late Melvin and Blanche (Sholler) Parks. She was a Montrose resident most of her life. She married Dennis Kies on May 2, 1970. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2006. Leona worked at Petal Pusher in Montrose for several years. She enjoyed Facebooking, gaming, going to the movies and going out to lunch with the girls.
Surviving are: Children: Clayton Parrott of Toledo, OH, Kimberly Delcore (Eric) of Montrose, Christopher (Barbara) Kies of Hart, Jeremy (Jodie) Kies of Mt. Morris, Bradley (Sheila) Kies of Mt. Morris, Rickey (Jessie) Kies of Montrose, Patrick Wallace of Montrose; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sisters: Delilah Mihalik of OR, Beverly Jean (Frank) Bednarski of Grass Lake; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Rosie Fowler of Flushing.
