Stephen Michael Lazzio, age 61, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at University of Michigan Hospital with his wife and sister at his side. He was born on December 9, 1954 in Flint to parents Steve and Anna (Pastue) Lazzio. Stephen graduated from Powers Catholic High School, University of Michigan – Flint, and Wayne State University School of Law. He practiced law in Mount Morris until his death. Stephen was a man of great faith. Throughout his long illness he never complained and accepted everything with dignity and faith. His priorities in life were his church, his family, and his clients. He was involved in many charitable activities and especially enjoyed serving as Eucharist minister, visiting the sick, and serving the parish council. He was a master of trivia and had many interests, art, music, movies, sports, history, and politics. He traveled extensively through the United States and Europe and visited China and the Middle East. His favorite trip was to Israel spending Christmas in Bethlehem. With a heart as big as all outdoors and a smile that never left, he will be deeply missed until we meet in heaven. Stephen is survived by his wife, Cindy Lambert Lazzio of Mount Morris; sister, Patricia Lazzio of Flushing; mother-in-law, Mary Lambert of Genesee; sister-in-law Brenda (Ralph) Cook of Birch Run; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Anna Lazzio. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Mary Church, 11110 N. Saginaw St., Mt. Morris. Father Thomas Nenneau celebrant. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 10am – 3pm and 4pm – 8pm at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, and one hour prior to Funeral Mass beginning at 10am on Thursday. Contributions in Stephen’s name may be made to St. Mary School, Mount Morris. |
