SIPLER, Merle Robert – of Clio, age 85 died Friday, October 13, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Rev. Cathi Huvaere officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home, Clio Chapel on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and from 10 AM until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
Merle was born May 15, 1932 in Trenton, New Jersey the son of the late Foster and Myrtle (Van Hart) Sipler. He graduated from Pennsburg High School in Yardley, PA. with the class of 1950. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1962. On May 26, 1956 he married Madelon J. Wesenick in Whittemore, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1997 he worked for AC Spark Plug for 35 years. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Merle enjoyed golfing, woodworking, puzzles and gardening. He was an avid coin and stamp collector. Merle built his home and also his cabin at Sage Lake where he liked to spend time with his family.
Surviving are: Wife of 61 years Madelon, Children: Janis (Alan) Langdon, Marcia (Tracy) Lutze, Sheri (Mark) Cormier; Grandchildren: Courtney (Tommy) Williams, Drew (Courtney) Langdon, Cameran (Hannah) Lutze, Jordan Lutze, Brina Rolison, Carley Rolison, Kristyn Cormier; Great-Grandchildren: Braylen Williams, Kendyll Williams, Maddox Williams, Raevynn Williams, Jackson Langdon, Carson Langdon.
