SHINABARGER, Robert Dean – of Mt. Morris, age 88, died Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Cranberry Park surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 23, 2020 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Dan Shinabarger officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Robert was born January 26, 1931 in Burton, Michigan to the late Stanley and Anna (Ripenburg) Shinabarger. He grew up in Michigan and resided in the Clio area for the last 12 years. On July 4, 1952 he married Ilene J. Nixon and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2016. Prior to his retirement in 1980, Robert worked at GM with 30 years of service. Robert enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and cutting wood. He also liked riding his snowmobiles, and 4 wheelers. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with people. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Robert was the last of 14 children. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff at Cranberry Park Memory Care Unit.
Surviving are: Children, Robert (Beth) Shinabarger, Curtis (Jan) Shinabarger, Donna (Terry) Erwin, Donald (Chris) Shinabarger, Thomas (Carrie) Shinabarger, Patricia (Mark) Marlow; Daughter in law, Lisa Shinabarger; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
