Barbara Maxine Osmun (Ferris), 78, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, surrounded by loving family.
She was born July 16, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to Edwin and Thelma Ferris. She grew up in Flint, MI. On December 8, 1958 she married the love of her life, Charles I. Osmun. Together they owned and operated Osmun Landscape Supply for many years.
Her sister, Jean Cope, and brother, Phillip Ferris, preceded her in death.
She has three surviving brothers, Jim Ferris, Skip Ferris, and Buck Ferris, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her surviving children are Guy (Julie) of Linden, Aaron (Gail) of Clarkston, Rick (Barb) Laviolette and Cindy Biggers of Australia.
Surviving grandchildren include Shastitie (Chad) Miller, Tianna Ferris, Kaylee Ferris, Melissa Laviolette, Adam Biggers, Mike Biggers, Kara Osmun, Mathew Osmun, Kristian Welanko, Katherine (Sunil)Welanko-Lall, David Welanko, Maureen Rhone, Charles Osmun and William Osmun.
She was most proud of her 9 great grandchildren. Barb was a wonderful and kind person to all that knew her. She loved her family over everything else and would always put its needs above her own. Her passing is a great loss to us all and she will be missed by many.
Memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Laura Sias-Lee officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
