Howard D. King, age 81, of Swartz Creek passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 6:30 PM at Jan's Bar in Swartz Creek.
Howard was born on January 17, 1933 in Flint, the son of Vern and Mae (Hudson) King. He was a graduate of Flint Central. Howard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On December 26, 1996 he married Connie Kitchen in Flint. Howard was the owner of Jan's Bar in Swartz Creek for over 49 years. He was a member of the Swartz Creek VFW.
He is survived by his wife Connie, his daughter Shawn King, step children, John Michael Irk, Karen Redman, Joette Campo, Troy Medore and Shayne Medore, grandchildren, Hunter and Jake Medore, Candi Marshall, Donald and Neil Smith and Brandie Ondrvsek, great-grandson, Dakota Marshall. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gentium Hospice. Howard's family is being served by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
