Edgar Stimson Howe, 89, lifetime Lapeer area resident, died Thursday March 15, 2018. He was born April 3, 1928 in Hadley to parents Archie and Ruth (Stimson) Howe.
Ed was a supervisor at General Motors, retiring in 1987 after 20 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows. Mr. Howe was wonderful reciting history from memory, especially Hadley Township history. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, hunting and travel. He will be missed.
Ed was survived by his wife: Barbara (Deyo) Howe, children: Susan Taylor of Davison; Phyllis (Matthew) Roukas of OR; Bryan (Phidge) Howe of Goodrich; Daniel Howe of Mexico and Valerie (Norm) Nonn of Niles, grandchildren: Jodie; Carrie; Matthew; Shawn; Lisa and special young friend: Caleb Cook. Mr. Howe was preceded in death by his sister: Laura Boland as well as his parents.
Per Ed’s own wishes; the family has entrusted Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with cremation. A private service will be scheduled, with interment at Stiles Cemetery.
