Dorothy Ann Hinkle, age 83 of Durand, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11am at the Durand United Methodist Church, Rev. Beverly Marr will officiate with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel from 5-8pm on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Dorothy was born in Durand on December 2, 1932 to the late Irving and Susanna (Wiseley) Spinning. She graduated from Durand High School and spent all of her life in Durand. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and canning, she was an avid bowler, square dancer, and always was sewing.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Beverly (Virgil) Budd, Charles (Pam) Gilbert, Denise (Jerry) Okenka, Dennis (Debra) Gilbert, Linda (Ron) Cawood, Brenda Chadwell, and Brian (Kelly) Gilbert. Her brother Robert (Betty) Spinning, 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, husbands, Charles Gilbert and Robert Hinkle. Brothers, Charles, Irving, James, Don, Jerry and Richard, her sisters Barbara and Patricia, her brother in-law Tom and sister in-law Jean.
Memorial contributions ion Mrs. Hinkle's name are suggested to the Durand United Methodist Church. |
