Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Wallace
On Saturday, July 7, 2018, Betty Wallace, loving wife and mother of three, passed away
at the age of 85.
Betty was born March 10, 1933 in Milton, WV to Broaddus and Bertha Ball. She received
her B.A. from Marshall College in Huntington, West Virginia. She met Dan Wallace in
Dundalk, Maryland, and married him on August 25, 1957. They raised two sons, David
and Marc, and one daughter, Elizabeth {Beth}. In hospice care for six months prior to her
death, Betty died peacefully in her sleep.
Although she followed her husband to Michigan in 1958, she was a proud Mountaineer,
always loving her time in West Virginia visiting family and friends. She had a passion for
Blenko glass, a popular glass company in Milton, West Virginia and a love of her Lord,
Jesus Christ. A pastor's wife, she made sure to support the church, working for the
United Methodist Church Conference for more than 20 years. She also traveled to Haiti
for missionary work and played in the bell choir. At times, she was a part-time substitute
teacher and always a full-time mother and wife who enjoyed working in her garden,
watching the birds that came to her feeders, and cheering for Marshall University
Football.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother Lewis and her parents Broaddus and
Bertha. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, along with her children David, Marc and
Beth, her brother Robert, five grandchildren, Marisa Bahtijari, Jordan Rathfon, Marie
Holquist, Jon Holquist and Brandon Holquist and three great grandchildren, Bella, Logan,
and Evalee along with several sisters and brother-in-law and numerous nieces and
nephews. ~
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Davison United
Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with a burial side service to be held at the Moore Township
Cemetery in Sanilac County, Michigan, the following day, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be
held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Davison United Methodist Church from 6 p.m. to 8
