Puska, B. Irene of Montrose, formerly of Flushing, age 96, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church, 11356 Seymour Rd., Montrose, 48457. Pastor Joel Thomford will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
Irene was born in Montrose, Michigan on September 18, 1921, the daughter of Orien and Leona (Tryon) Parks and the seventh of nine children. She married Joseph Puska in Napoleon, Ohio on October 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1999. Irene was employed by General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of U.A.W. Local 651. Together with her husband, they enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers up north in Indian River. They also enjoyed traveling, boating, and were avid Nascar fans. Irene loved playing cards, especially Euchre. She was an active member of Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church in Montrose.
Irene is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Melvin, Howard, Sherley, LeRoy, Grant, Clarence, Velma, D.N. and their spouses.
