BROWN, E. Bruce - Age 84, of Linden, died May 22, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Community of Christ Church, 1158 W. Bristol Rd., Flint. Mary and Fred McCullen will officiate. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to Community of Christ Church or Outreach International. Bruce was born June 28, 1937 in Detroit, the son of Emerson and Margaret (Pearson) Brown. He was married to Helen Smith on April 13, 1962. Bruce was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in reserves for 17 years following his time in active duty. After retiring from auto parts sales, he became a docent at the Detroit Zoo, which took many hours of study and training to complete. He was proud of this accomplishment and taught everyone all there was to know about the creatures in Amphiville. Bruce was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church. His church was an important part of his life and he instilled the love of Christ in his family. He is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Richard (Deanna) Brown, Nathan (Kathy) Brown, Carolyn (Kim) Bacon, Sandra (Pat) Sivyer, Tamera (Larry) Hartt; daughter-in-law, Tammy Brown; son-in-law, Jim Swain; grandchildren, Jenifer Salter, Brandon Brown, Alicia (Nate) Tennis, Jeffrey (Hannah) Brown, Bridget (Robert) Bowker, Caitlin (Brian) Holdorf, Patrick (Kaitlin) Sivyer, Nicholas Sivyer, Brian (Barbie) Swain, Carol Ann (Rick) Land, Joshua Hartt, Shyanne Hartt, Sarah Swain; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Brown; daughter, Crystal Swain; brothers, Warren, Ray and David; sister, Wanda. |
