SCHMIDT, William E. “Bill” - Of Grand Blanc, age 56, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Mark Lasley officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday and 11-2 and 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bill was born in Flint, Michigan on June 1, 1955. On April 27, 1985 he married Kristy Plasha.
He enjoyed muzzle loading, fishing, camping and reading. Mr. Schmidt was employed by GM Truck and Bus and was a member of UAW Local #598.
Surviving are wife, Kristy; children, Rachel and husband Jay Newton of Oregon, Trisha and husband Jeff Fawcett of Alma and Christopher Schmidt of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Lacey and Kaden; brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews.
