Vicky Lynn Hurley, age 72, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020. She was born on June 18, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska to parents Dale and Clara “Lala” Betz. Vicky will be remembered as a pillar of the community for her deep love and caring nature for everyone she knew. She was involved in numerous volunteer groups that helped restore the beautification of the East side of Flint. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her friends, and helping anyone in need. Vicky was a strong and inspiring woman who raised three children on her own. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loyal friend. Vicky is survived by her three children: David Lee (Geri) Hurley, Jr., Dale Hurley, and Tina Hurley; grandchildren: Dale Jr., Justin, Lexis, Tiana, Maranda, Jared, Britney, William, Samantha, and Jessica; 13 great grandchildren; brother, David Betz; father of her children: David Hurley, Sr.; the Keester family in Nebraska; and Darren Mahon and Amber McIntyre who were like family to her, as well as many others. She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: Jerry and Jimmy; great granddaughter, Kaylei; grandma Schleiger; grandma G; and aunt Vi Keester. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution may do so to son, David Hurley, Jr. to help with funeral expenses. |
