Marian Rose Reid, age 92, of Flushing, MI, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Marian was born July 30, 1924, in St. Louis, MO, one of five daughters born to Joseph and Rose Catherine (Miesner) Hicks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters: Betty Hicks, Catherine Hicks, May LaCava and Helen Brooks; and her loving husband of 54 years, Earl Reid, whom she married October 2, 1948.
She is survived by her children: Robert (Tania) Reid of Spruce, MI; Linda (Michael) Kalter of Xenia, OH; Patricia (Robert) Hellman of Mesa, AZ; Richard (Debbie) Reid of Flushing, MI and Bradley (Liane) Reid of Gilbert, AZ; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Eileen and Frank Faith of Swartz Creek, MI; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marian was a devoted homemaker. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School in MI. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was an avid reader.
She will be interred with her husband 11 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Flint Memorial Park with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee County District Library, 4195 W. Pasadena Ave., Flint, MI 48504.
