Donald Thomas Stanley, age 67, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Donald was born on September 29,1957 in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, to the late David and Lois (Martin) Stanley. He was known for his great style in decorating, cooking and flowers. Donald often purchased flowers to brighten up his atmosphere and he loved all things bright and colorful. Donald retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He loved the sea and he envisioned being around nature and water. After retirement, Donald managed the Royal View Resort in Mountain Home, Arkansas. This was the perfect job for Donald due to the fact that he loved all things nature and this gave him an opportunity to help others to experience the joys of nature as he would himself. Donald was loved dearly, but Yoshi and Sophie loved him most. They were always with him, right by his side. Beloved brother, uncle, nephew and dearest friend he will be missed dearly.
He leaves to cherish his memory close friends; Tim Grant, Sherry Vanderhagen and Sharise Schwartz, brother: David (Kristine) Stanley, nephew: Micah (Kaylin) Stanley of Fenton, niece: Angela Youmans of Montrose, great nephews: Jameson Youmans of Grand Blanc, Jonah Stanley of Fenton, great nieces: Ashley Stanley of Montrose, Dominique(Joshua) Jacoby of Ortonville, Shaelynn Lavrack of Flushing, uncle: Robert Stanley, aunts: Barb Johns of Burton, Rosemary Hall of Lake George and Jeannette Benner of Clio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Alvin and Melvinnie Stanley and Melvin and Nellie Leineke; and siblings Daniel Stanley and Deborah Kimmel.
Family hour for Donald will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw St, Flint, MI 48502, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM.
