SHINABARGER, Lucille "Ann" - Age 88, of Linden, died Thursday, July 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 22, 2013 At St. Jude Episcopal Church, 106 E. Elizabeth St, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Group Living, Inc, G 5095 VanSlyke Rd, Flint, MI 48507.
Ann was born August 2, 1924 in Alpena, the daughter of Raymond J. and Edith V. (Fussey) Corpus. She married James Carlton Shinabarger May 5, 1966 in Flint and he preceded her in death June 4, 2003. She had resided in Linden since 1968 coming from Flint. She was a member of St. Jude Episcopal Church. For 9 years she was a volunteer teacher, teaching life skills to mentally handicapped students in New Pt. Richie, FL. She was a member and past president of the Fenton Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #2460. She also was a member of Fenton V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary Post #3243, Swartz Creek American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post #294, and the AmVets, Eagles, V.F.W. and the Marines in New Port Richie, FL.
Ann is survived by her children, Terry McLaren and Laura McLure of Fenton, Gaye Filarski of Long Lake, Jolene and husband Jim Balars of Swartz Creek, Jonna and husband Ronald Paul of Flushing, Beth Stobaugh of Flint, Jan and husband Joseph Doyle of Flushing, Tonna and husband Jim Nicholls of Linden, and Eran Shinabarger of Flint; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Shinabarger; daughter, Ilene Werth; brother, Louis Corpus; and grandson, Dale Sawatzki.
