James Perry Atwell passed away surrounded in grace by his loving family on July 23, 2017. Devoted husband of Debra (Coppola) for 30 yrs, Outstanding dad to Blake and Lauren; Loving father to James II and Robert (Sandy) with first wife, Nancy (Mitchell) Dode. Survived by 3 grandsons, 2 nephews and many family and friends. Jim, born in Flint MI to the late Evelyn (Vroman) and Kenneth July 7, 1941. Predeceased by his sister Jean Kolinske. Jim graduated from Flint Northern in 1959, spent the majority of his career in the dry-cleaning business as General Manager of chains in the Flint and Detroit Area, opening his own stores “J & D Fashion Cleaners” in Northville and Livonia. He finished his full time career in DC supply sales. Memorial Gathering Saturday, August 12th at 9:30am, Mass at 11:00am at St. Mary’s of the Hills, 2675 John R Rd, Rochester Hills. Celebration of Jim’s life to follow. In lieu of flowers, a charity has been set up to help Jim’s son, Bob with medical bills in his fight against cancer.
