JOHNSON (MOLNAR), ARLENE

On Monday, May 11th, 2020, Arlene Rose Johnson, admired daughter, loving sister, beloved and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away from natural causes at the age of 95 in Flint, Michigan.
Arlene was born on December 11th, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan, the eighth of nine children, to Cecil and Bella Peek. Arlene loved her brothers, sisters, and parents, and helped provide care for so many throughout her life.
Arlene married John Molnar of Flint in 1942, and the two had three children together. Following John Molnar’s death, Arlene remarried Darold Johnson of Ferndale, Minnesota in 1950.
Arlene enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking great food, and reminiscing with family. She was known for her pumpkin bread, sheet cake, apple crisp, and potato salad, along with her hospitality and welcoming home.
Arlene was adored by many, and she lived a vibrant life full of laughter to the end.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bella Peek; her sisters, Gladys Kulpa, Evelyn Wilson, Thelma Bostwick, and Mae Peek; her brothers, James Peek, Emerson Peek, Thomas Peek, and Duane Peek, and her son, Michael Molnar.
Arlene leaves behind five beloved children, Janet Wasik, Judith Porrit, Darold Johnson, Paula Sweeney, and Mark Johnson, along with four generations of grand-children, nieces, nephews, and friends. Arlene never stopped being a mom, always reminding others to “call when you make it home.” She is now resting peacefully in her eternal home with all those she loved who passed before her. Arlene continues to inspire those she left behind through the memory of her open arms and enduring love.
