Thurman Willis, our beloved Husband, Father, Grand Father, Brother, Brother in law, Uncle and Friend went home to be with The Lord on February 15, 2013. Thurman was born October 21, 1949 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Cleother Willis Sr. and Mary Bell Willis. The Family moved to Saginaw Michigan in 1954. He graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1968. He was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear and retired after 33 years of service.
Thurman is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, JoAnn Browder Willis and his loving children Joseph Gibbs Willis and Kelly (Damon Sr.) Whitney. He adored his grandchildren NaKeisha (Porter Sr.) Bledson, DeCreshia Donald, Quantisha Smithers, Evann Ruffin, Damon Whitney Jr., Jasmine Whitney and Ashtonn Thurman Whitney. He has seven Great Grand Children.
Thurman was the third eldest son, brother to Cleother (Ethel) Willis of Hattiesburg, MS, Delorise (John Sr.) Hammond of Houston, TX , the late Ivory Willis and Halbert Willis. Sister in laws Lynda Willis of Grand Rapids, MI and Ida Willis of Yazoo City, MS.
He has several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special cousin O.D. Grays.
Thurman had a friendly personality, he loved spending time with his family, he loved to laugh, he loved fishing, playing cards and he never met any strangers.
