STEVE BUSICK, age 71 of Otisville, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his residence. His funeral service will take place at 7PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ann Norton officiating. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 1PM until the time of service at 7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Steve was born on July 24, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Harold and Fara (Kohn) Busick and was the baby of the family. As a young man, Steve worked as a meat cutter for A&P grocery stores, where he was known as “Kenny the Butcher.” He retired from LakeVille Schools in 1995, where he was an English teacher and had the privilege of speaking at two high school graduations. Steve did his undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo before achieving his Master’s degree at Eastern Michigan University with a 4.0 grade point average. He always believed that a quarter could get him a cup of coffee. He enjoyed the company of his cats, playing backgammon, and living the RV life with his wife. Steve was even a tech writer for the Family Motor Coach Association. Steve is survived by his wife, Linda, the love of his life; sisters-in-law: Frankie Busick and Rosemary Busick; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dave Bennett and family. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Bob Busick and Jim Busick; and niece, Kris Busick. |
