ELDER, CONSTANCE I. “CONNIE” – Of Grand Blanc age 97, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Serene Gardens.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home and also 1:00pm on Friday until the time of service.
Connie was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Floyd and Clara (West) Pierce. She retired from General Motors as a secretary. Connie married Byron “Rocky” Elder. They enjoyed traveling the world together and for 26 years went to Florida for the winter. Connie was a faithful member of First General Baptist Church, and later Heritage Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, David (Anna) Smith; grandsons, David (Ashley) Smith and Daniel (Destiny) Smith; and great-grandson, Rowan Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocky Elder in 2019 and parents, Floyd and Clara Pierce.
In memory of Connie, donations are suggested to A Living Tribute; an organization that plants trees in our nation’s forests.
