RUSSELL, James W, 85, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Monday, September 23, 2013 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, Rev. Tommy McDoniel and Rev. Jim Rupert to officiate.Visitation will be held 2:00-7:00pm on Sunday and 10-11AM Monday at the funeral home. James will be laid to rest immediately following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 1653 Davison Rd, Flint. James was born in Flint on May 17, 1928 and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He was a Lifetime member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #490 F&AM and an active member at Asbury United Methodist Church where he served as the audio technician, and as secretary for membership and offering . James was employed for 38 years by Michigan Bell and AT&T Telephone Company. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard. He loved spending time at his cottage on Barnes Lake. James is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth Russell; children, William (Sheila) Russell, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Howe, Ronald (Cindy) Russell, and David (Traci) Russell; son in-law, Steve Terkeurst; grandchildren, Lindsey, Kelly, Jessica, Emily, Keith, Scott, Stefanie, Brandon, Kyle, Sandi, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Lexi, Makayla, Landon, Logan, Naomi, and Norah.
