SLATER, Grace J. - Of Flint, age 88, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Tom Knight officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the U of M Burn Center.
Visitation 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Grace was born in Grand Rapids on October 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Forrest and Esther (Rollenhagen) DeCan. She was member of Faith Missionary Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Gayle and Dianne Slater both of Flint;
grandson, Anthony (Natalie) Slater of Chicago;
granddaughter, Leslie Christiansen of Chicago;
great-grandson, Teno of Chicago;
brothers, Don DeCan of Grand Rapids, Ken DeCan of Florida;
close friend, Martha Hillman of Genesee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, 2 sons, Gary and David.
