GLASS, Eugene Graydon -- Age 92, of Flint, died March 10, 2011. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, March 14, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Rev. Robert D. Wright officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, and 10-11 AM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Home and Hospice Advantage, 1309 S. Linden Rd. #B., Flint, MI 48532 or to Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 W. Court St. Flint, MI 48502. Gene was born April 20, 1918, the son of Eugene F. and Claudia (Runyan) Glass in Caledonia MI. He served in the Army in WWII in Europe. Gene married Betty Louise Saur on May 18, 1946 in Sparta. He worked for Pure Oil, Union Oil and Hougen Manufacturing. In retirement he enjoyed woodworking, camping with family and for a few years working with the Boy Scouts. Gene was an active member of Court Street United Methodist Church and made many friends in 25 years of wintering in Florida. Surviving are two children and spouses, Suzanne Uptigrove (Ken) of Owosso, Gary Glass (Arlouine) of Gaines; three grandchildren and spouses, Chad Uptigrove (Amy) of Muskegon, Jennifer Metevier (Paul) of Wyoming and Kathy VanderBee (Brian) of Kentwood and five great-grandchildren.
